The Cartrefi Clyd service

Cartrefi Clyd is a partnership between CARE, DEG, Lightfoot, Ynni LlŷnAwel Aman Tawe and RDE, all of whom have provided specialist energy saving or retrofit advice services for many years.

Cartrefi Clyd is a service part-funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme that focuses on helping owners get retrofit right the first time by minimising risks. No wasting of resources or having to redo work due to unintended consequences. Click here for a brief explanation of Retrofit.

Cartrefi Clyd uses trained Assessors and Co-ordinators and follows the ‘Whole House Approach’, with a pathway designed to risk manage retrofits, set out by government-backed specifications and guidance called PAS2035. Click here to find out more about the Whole House Approach and PAS2035

All partners are community energy groups or social enterprises based locally in Wales, so they understand the local geography, climate and building types.

Service provision in each of the four areas may vary dependent on demand and availability of the assessors. It is expected that the full service will be available at the discounted prices between December 2023 and August 2025.
