Other factors
Retrofitting a property is complex, there are lots of different factors that affect each other. Often overlooked are:
The type of house that it is. We have constructed houses in different ways over time and this effects how we should approach each one. Houses have also been altered, extended and ‘improved’ over time and we need to be mindful of these changes. Cartrefi Clyd works to ensure that solutions work with the most sensitive elements of a property, and minimising the risk.
The significance of the property in terms of its meaningfulness to both the owner and the local community. For future generations we need to be mindful of this so that we preserve our common heritage.
How we live in a house can change priorities. Solutions will vary for similar properties because one might be accommodating a young family, another a working couple, another a retired person. All social factors need to be taken into account.
